Our guest Social Enterprise speaker for next Friday's Peer2Peer Networking session is Dr Tessa Davis from Learnmed.
Recently Learnmed, a start-up social enterprise launched by Tessa to aid paediatric care in remote Aboriginal communities has been named among the world’s 50 most innovative new businesses by Global Entrepreneurship Week.
Learnmed is the only Australian venture to make it into the top 50 businesses, which will compete in the Startup Open competition for the title as the world’s best start-up during Global Entrepreneurship Week, which starts on November 12.
The top 50, chosen from more than 400 applications, includes start-ups from 17 different countries, representing industries including clean tech, life sciences, agriculture and transportation.
Very exciting times for Tessa and we're excited to hear more about Learnmed and what's in store over the coming month as Global Entrepreneurship Week commences in November.
We will be joined by Natasha from The FRANK Team, Australia's Country Host of Global Entrepreneurship Week who will let us know more and any events or initiatives that may be of interest to social enterprises in Sydney.
Jackie Ruddock will also be talking through her own journey to establish a Social Enterprise in Sydney and will introduce us to her love of all things Ken Done, very much looking forward to her update.
Through our Peer2Peer Network for social enterprises we are connecting people following a similar path of discovery and those further along their journey, which is vital to learn and grow in any organisation. For a Social Enterprise the unique attribute to share resources, trade amongst each other, collaborate on projects or bid for tenders cannot be understimated, but how do you find each other?
Our SES Peer2Peer network will invite social enterprise practitioners from all forms and stages of lifecycle to congregate and learn from each other.
Your first Peer2Peer network event will open your eyes to the many social enterprises emerging and provide a positive platform to learn from. It is up to each enterprise to share their experiences and contribute to the conversation.
We look forward to meeting you soon, your first participation in any Peer2Peer networking event is free, so please bring your enterprise partner with you.
We will be holding Peer2Peer sessions every month across the Western and South Western Sydney regions.
